PauseTime is association’s weekly hangout at pHuone. Whether you want to enjoy a hot cup of coffee, do schoolwork together, watch TV or play games, head to Kemistintie 1 D 2! There’s always a board member present during the PauseTime, so you can also buy overall patches and membership pins. Come to say hello to friends and make new ones!

7. Application period for the Former of the Board 2023 is open
Dear members,
The application period for the Former of the Board for the year 2023 is now open!
Any actual member may run for the position and applying happens by sending a free-form application to the board of the association (hallitus(at)prosessiteekkarit.fi). Please, also attach a photo to your application. The candidates’ applications and pictures will be published on the Association’s election website and there will be possibility to present questions to the candidates. You can apply to become the Former of the Board until the election of the Former of the Board. The new Former of the Board will be chosen in an additional association meeting that will be held tentatively on the 24th of October. A notice of a meeting will be sent later.
The task of the Former of the Board is to form a new association rule-abiding board for the association for the year 2023. The former’s suggestion for the line-up of the board will be discussed in the association’s fall meeting which will be held tentatively on the 21st of November. A notice of a meeting will be sent later.
More information on the forming of the board and the elections, in general, can be found in the attached association’s board forming bylaw (in Finnish). If you have any questions regarding the matter, please contact the chair of the board or the board.
8. [New] Exam week badminton 21.10.
The exam week badminton on Friday 21.10. at 12-14! 4 badminton courts in Block B, Unisport Otaniemi, are reserved for PT and participation costs nothing, just say to the Unisports customer service that you are coming to PT’s badminton shift in block B.
It is possible to rent a badminton racket from the Unisport lobby for 2€ per shift. Shuttlecocks are available for purchase for the price of 3€/piece. The amount of rentable rackets is limited so it is encouraged to bring your own. Playing is only allowed with indoor shoes. Welcome!
9. Beer Pong -tournament PT vs. FK 26.10.
Did you miss the Battle sitsit last spring? Or do you just want to show the physicists why chemists are just better? Luckily, there’s a great opportunity to do that – it’s time for the thousand-year-old tradition: Beer Pong tournament with Fyysikkokilta!
In order to compete at the Beer pong championship tournament, you need to have a pair with you (only one member of the pair signs up for the tournament). The competition is arranged for the 24 teams, 12 teams from FK and 12 from PT. You can also just come to cheer for your favourite team!
The competition fee is 5 euros per team. The winning pair will be awarded with amazing prizes!

Have you encountered unfair arrangements in your courses? Would you need help or peer support with your studies? Do you want to share opinions on the quality and content of teaching? Join the study feedback evening of the CHEM guilds to wrap up the exam week on 23.10.
The event is an opportunity to talk about courses and studies, between students in a laid-back atmosphere. The guilds’ heads of study affairs will take care of collecting feedback and transmitting it forward. Now is your chance to have your voice heard and to influence your studies! The event is completely free and particularly aimed at the CHEM master’s students.
In addition to the casual discussions, sauna and snacks will be available!

16. [New] Trial Drilling 26.10.
Warden of the Mountain has once again summoned Triumvirate and announced the date of Vuorimieskilta’s mystical initiation rite Trial Drilling to be 28th of October at 5 pm. The event begins at the Guild room (Kemistintie 1D 2). Wear warm clothing as we will be spending some time outside.

18. Finnish Series of Beer Pong 22.10.
Finnish Series of Beer Pong is coming once more! The grand prize for the tournament is a trip to the next European Series of Beer Pong tournament, which is held at Vaduz, Liechtenstein in 5.-7.2023. The participation fee for ESPB tournament, flight tickets and accommodation during the tournament time are all covered for the winners (Up to 500€).
The Finnish Series of Beer Pong is held on 22.10.2022 from 11.00 (the starting time is subject to minor changes) at Restaurant Kaivohuone in Helsinki (Iso Puistotie 1, 00140 Helsinki) Ticket sales for the event begins on 7.9.2022 14.00 here in kide.app.
The early bird tickets for THE BEER PONG TOURNAMENT of the year are only 20€ per team excluding cloakroom. The tickets grants the team an access to the tournament and to the after party. Game beverages can be purchased from the venue at lowered price for players. There is room for 96 teams and after 21.9 the ticket price is going to rise to 25€, so act fast for cheaper tickets. A team has to purchase only one ticket.
The tournament is arranged in collaboration with Aalto Beer Pong ry, Beer Pong Turku ry and Lappeenranta Beer Pong ry. The tournament is played by official ESOBP rules. You can check the rules from here:

19. Aalto Amazing Race 27.10.
Aalto Amazing Race 2022 is here!
Aalto Amazing Race is a wild, adventurous race aimed for the first year students in Bachelor’s and Master’s in Aalto, where the fuksis and master’s fuksis get to meet other Aalto students across different disciplines. During the adventure, teams propagate forward by solving various puzzles and hidden clues while battling against time. A glorious afterrace event awaits those who make it to the finish line.
The participants are divided into interdisciplinary teams by the organizers. If you want, there is a possibility to pick a single friend to join your team with you. The race itself begins on Thursday 27.10. Teams will be sent out with short intervals starting from 15.00 at Otaniemi, where they will gather their team and get the first clue.

Smökki is filled with games of every kind, when AYY’s Community Section Aava organizes a game day open to everyone on Saturday 29 October from 12 to 8 pm! During the day, you can come and play your own favorites and try out new board and video games. There is also food available for a small fee! If you wish, you can also bring your own games (as well as friends).
You can come and go freely, but some games require pre-registration due to limited capacity; registration for these will be closer to the event.

Yes, you read that right because this year, in honor of the Teekkarius 150th anniversary, Radiodiodi has decided to participate in the celebration by organizing a tradition week radio during the teekkari tradition weeks from 7th to 18th of November. More infromation and registration for programme making can be found at radiodiodi.fi. Registration is now open and closes at 16th of October!
What is a Radiodiodi? Radiodiodi is an annual production from Otaniemi, where students have the opportunity to make their own radio programme. Programmes are produced by volunteering Aalto students (even you!). We facilitate it, you make it. The activity is free for students and does not require any previous experience.

The traditional Polin Appro will once again take over Helsinki in the first Teekkari tradition week!
Polin Appro is located around Vanha Poli, the origins of engineering students, limiting the area from Punavuori to Kamppi. After the pub crawl, you can head to Apollo Live Club to the official afterparty where amazing artists entertain the crowd. Polin Appro is for all students and student-minded people!
Ticket sales for the event will open on Kide.app on Tuesday, October 25. at 2pm. In addition, tickets will be sold physically in Otaniemi in the lobby of the Undergraduate center (Otakaari 1) on Wednesday 26. October and Thursday 27. October, both days from 12am to 3pm. When buying a ticket, you choose the appro day and your start time.
The ticket price is 15€ (patch included).

25. Teekkari Tradition Weeks: Elonkorjuu
At the end of the first week of Teekkari Tradition weeks it is time to put on your classiest clothes and step into the shadows of Smökki as chill music fills the space. This is because on Friday, 11th of November, Elonkorjuu is back.
The event is organized by the Teekkari culture committee of AYY, GAYY and Jalostajat. During the night, you get to enjoy live music, good food and an excellent drink selection.

26. Songwriting competition and sitsit 16.11.
The songwriting contest of the Teekkarius 150 anniversary has opened! This year there are four categories out of which one is the international series! To participate you need to rewrite or come up with a new song entirely in a language that is NOT Finnish. You can also participate into the other categories with a non-Finnish song. The other series are Teekkaritradition series (Relating to the Teekkarius 150 celebration), Never-before seen (Songs that have never been performed.), Fresh-songs (Songs that have been performed, but are still new.)
You can compete in the song competition alone or alongside your friends with as many fantastic lyrics as you can come up with. If you recently came up with a song, and already sang it at a sitsit, no worries. Songs written after 9.11.2021 are all eligible for signup, but you must enter with your own song. The competition will close on 2.11.2022.
All new lyrics entered to the competition will be sung during the Song writing competition sitsit on the 16.11 in Otakaari 20. During the sitsit the winners of the categories will be announced alongside fantastic prizes for the winners. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges composed of keen observers of Otaniemi song-culture.
Ticket sales for the sitsit will begin during week 41 and the sitsit cost 17 euros. The Dresscode is smart casual. The sitsit will begin 18:30 with the doors opening at 18:00 on the 16.11, participating contestants are guaranteed a spot as they are limited.

28. Climate.now course in period II
Climate change is the challenge of our time. Update your knowledge about it and learn more about the science behind, discuss the topic with other students in multidisciplinary groups, and ponder your own relationship to it, on a special course in period II:
CLIMATE.NOW – Basics of climate change and implications on technology and business (PHYS-E058001, 3 or 5 ECTS) 26.10.-7.12.2022
Course consists of lectures on various aspects of climate change (with several guest lecturers), independent study of Climate.now material, and group work in multidisciplinary groups (3 cr). Full 5 cr course also includes a project work. The projects will be connected to Carbon Neutral Aalto 2030 roadmap work.
The course is open for all students of Aalto University. Students from all schools and from candidate to doctoral level are welcome to the course!
Lectures: Wednesdays at 14-17, first lecture on 26.10.
Course language: The course lecture and communication language is English. Study material (Climate.now / Ilmasto.nyt) is available both in English and in Finnish.
